And lastly Wednesday May 19th we are having a big global thermonuclear meeting of doom (as my boss likes to call it!) about STEAM Fest. We will be meeting with Entertainers, Vendors, and anyone interested in volunteering. If you are one of those people please come--it will be from 6-9pm at The Academy Theatre. We will be talking about setup for the festival, shifts for volunteers and solidifying our performance schedule!

AUDITIONS FOR STEAMFEST MONDAY MAY 10th

The Academy Theatre and the Atlanta STEAMFest will be holding auditions for both
a full length and two 10 minute plays for the 2010 ATLSTEAMFest Monday May 10 at
7 P.M.

The only compensation for this is passes to the festival, but that will be
pretty spivvy and would otherwise cost $35.

We seek 13 actors, most in their 20s & 30s with 2 older roles. We're looking for
both men and women.

Should be capable of a variety of English Isle accents and enjoy dressing in
Steampunkish Pirate Costumes.

Have a 1 minute monologue, be prepared to cold read.

Bring headshot and Resume with you.

Audition appointments accepted but not required.

STEAM Fest at AnachroCon!

We are gearing up for a great time at AnachroCon this weekend! There will be lots of great workshops, panels, vendors and more! Come visit and get your passes this weekend! We have limited space!

"Veterans of the Atlanta music scene since 1995, Karma Lingo specializes in what we call the "New Classic Rock," characterized by driving, direct songwriting, economical and inventive instrumental arrangements, and elaborate vocal harmonies. Four men and three women, everybody plays, everybody sings, and everybody writes. Our songs are contemporary with current, relevant lyrics, but we play rock and roll like it hasn't been played in 2-3 decades, featuring a big sound, melodies you can actually sing, and a rare mix of subtlety and aggression, dynamics and drama, all delivered with emotion, imagination, and total commitment."

You might recognize some of them from the local Renaissance Faire as members of The Lost Boys and Three Quarter Ale. They will be playing both Saturday and Sunday!

Also if anyone is participating in the Steampunk at the Park Picnic at Piedmont Park Ms. Ophelia Crane will be reading a few scenes from The True History of Henry Rayne and the Airship Pirates which will be performed as a formal staged reading at STEAM Fest this summer. If you would like a sneak peak at all the airship pirate action come join us this Saturday at 2pm by the bandstand at Piedmont Park!
